Higgins is part of the Fletcher Construction family. Since 1909, Fletcher Construction planned, built, maintained, and managed significant national infrastructure in New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Higgins was purchased by Fletcher Construction in 2016. We work alongside the Fletcher Construction Major Projects team and specialist ground engineering and civil construction company Brian Perry Civil (BPC) which was purchased in 1986.
Fletcher Construction is now part of VINCI Construction.
Our history
Higgins grew from a small, contracting business established in the Manawatu by Irish immigrant Dan Higgins.
For more than 60 years, Higgins has been at the forefront of building New Zealand's infrastructure and is now one of the leading roading civil and road construction companies in the country.
