Waikato CCNZ awards success

higginsnews ccnzwaikato2024

The Green Team scored big wins in this year’s Waikato Civil Contractor New Zealand (CCNZ) awards.

Our East Waikato Network Outcomes Contract (EWNOC) team won the Project Category Four award for their work on SH25 & SH25A for NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi during - and after - the extreme weather events of summer 2022/23. Our teams showed extraordinary levels of dedication, commitment, and sheer hard work to keep roads open and the region connected during this period. As well as the immediate response, they continued to provide road network maintenance at a very high standard and achieved an outstanding performance assessment during the challenging time.

The Higgins Asphalt and East Waikato Network Outcomes Contract teams topped Project Category One for the SH29 Kaimai Asphalt Resurfacing and Maintenance Project in 2024 on three sites delivered between 25 to 29 February. This showcases the Waikato Team’s successful collaboration on one of the key risk areas in the East Waikato state highway network. They delivered the work safely, achieved quality excellence and minimised the disruption associated with traffic management.

We also had finalists in the People awards: Declan Leen, Outstanding Individual; Pamela Haa, Emerging Leader; Prabin Chaulagain, Outstanding Individual; and Rohan Manthena, Engineer of the Year.
