We are very proud of the Fletcher Construction winners and finalists celebrated at Friday’s National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Excellence Awards.

We had three category winners on the night. Nicky Leman (NZICC) won Outstanding Leader of the Year - Site Based, Bayley Smith (Engineering Services) won Rising Star - Site Based and Kate Perrott (Higgins) won the inaugural Achievement in Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environmental Award. Fatima Atonio (BPC) was awarded Special Merit in the Rising Star - Site Based category, and we were also represented by finalists Lucy Clark (BPC) and Tanya Claxton (Higgins) in the Tradeswoman of the Year category, and Gloria Jeong (NZICC) in the Student Excellence category.

Kate Perrott attended the awards alongside Bay of Plenty Region Manager Dean Taylor. “It was inspiring to be there together. Our BOP team is committed to ensuring that Health, Safety and Wellbeing is embedded in everything we do, and continue to grow in this area creating a safe and sustainable working environment.” She was also accompanied by her very proud Mum Trish Peacocke and daughter Lokki.

CEO Phil Boylen was in Christchurch for the event. “It was so great to be there for the awards alongside proud families, partners, managers and colleagues. We are working towards a goal of 30% or more of our operational leadership roles being filled by women. After Friday night’s achievements, I’m more confident than ever that this is a goal we can reach!”
